Robert White, Robert Martin, and Shawn Winston were in the same pod in CCA. This is when the three collaborated their stories and all "jumped" on Steve's case to receive a further downward departure.
INMATE#6-JuJuan Bibbs was facing over 20 years. He testified against his girlfriend and received some time off. When he became aware of Steve's case, he "jumped" on the case to receive a further downward departure.

INMATE#8 In 2002 Martae Brown had a drug and gun charge and was facing 10-15 years. Steve went to school with Mr. Brown, but has never had any affiliation with him. 2 years after Mr. Brown was charged, he told officers he "bought drugs from Steve." Mr. Brown gave officers information on individuals, but evidence revealed those individuals were deceased. Further, the time frame Brown stated he received drugs from Wright was not consistent. RELEASED
INMATE#9-Gerald Johnson was sentenced over 25 years for killing a lady in a high speed chase and a carjacking. He is currently in protective custody
RELEASED: Recently, 3 of the men who testified against Steve L. Wright, Jr. have been released from prison. These men pled guilty to their crimes. Further, these gentlemen were already incarcerated prior to Steve's incarceration. In fact, Steve does not know any of the young men but 1. 2 of the guys are at least 10-15 years Steve's senior and sentenced to serious time. This is an example of "JUMPING ON A CASE."
JUMPING ON CASES VS. SNITCHING: When individuals "jump on a case", they essentially give FBI agents false information about a person in order to receive a sentence reduction. Individuals who "jump on a cases" are generally already incarcerated or are potentially getting ready to receive a sentence for a crime they were found guilty of. When in prison, news travels fast, therefore, incarcerated persons are aware of people going to travel. Further, often agents either knowlingly or unknowingly give individuals names, leaving room for the incarcerated person to formulate a lie saying they know the person. "Snitching" is a slang term given when an individual has factual information about a person and can pinpoint them at a crime scene without a reasonable doubt.
